Located along Michigan Avenue two blocks south of the Chicago River, Sweetwater Tavern and Grille is the ideal place for lunch, dinner, happy hour, and late night celebrating.
There are many restaurants in downtown Chicago to choose from but none that offer the cozy atmosphere, great service, approachable menu, full liquor bar, smart wine list, and great beer selection that Sweetwater does.
The relaxed and casual atmosphere is aided by dark wood furniture and big leather booths. Floor to ceiling glass windows provide guests with vibrant views of the city and its energy. The many focal points of the room include stone stacked walls and columns, 24 televisions for when the big game is on, and certainly the main bar displaying not only a full complement of liquor, but also the 80+ draft and bottled beers available.
Outdoor Patio
When the weather cooperates, Sweetwater boasts an outdoor patio that seats 186 people. Newly remodeled and reconfigured, this patio is one of the largest and most popular that restaurants in downtown Chicago can offer. Coworkers and tourists alike have been raving about this patio since it opened in 2009.
Outstanding Service
The driving factor behind all of Bottleneck Management venues, and Sweetwater is no exception, is the outstanding service the staff provides. You rarely find staffs that take a fine dining approach to their level of service in such a relaxed atmosphere, but you will at Sweetwater. Attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating are but a few of the many adjectives that could be used to describe them.
So whether you’re on your lunch break, meeting colleagues after work for cocktails, in town on business looking for dinner, or touring our fine city, Sweetwater is the ideal place to stop and take it all in!
Heart of Chicago
Sweetwater is conveniently located in the heart of classic Chicago destinations. Along Michigan Ave between Millennium Park and the Chicago River. Blocks from the theater district and Art Institute. Within walking distance of the majority of downtown hotels.
